It's exhausting!

I just watched ten minutes of Obama on 60 minutes and cried (happily) through at least 8 of it. If this keeps up through his whole presidency I may need to schedule more naps.

Roller coaster of emotions

I am so happy about Obama that my heart feels like it could explode, but the fact that Prop 8 passed (the anti-gay marriage proposition, although that's not how it's worded officially) is crapping all over my Obama elation. I guess one step at a time, but it's hard to celebrate when so many people were so grossly discriminated against.

On the bright side, Barack (and I can call him that as you'll see here) sent me a PERSONAL email! He only sent it to me, it even has my name and everything!:

Natasha --

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack

Isn't that sweet of him??? There's that confusing bit about "all of you" but that was probably a typo. Listen, he was on his way to Grant park, he was VERY busy.

Blech on Prop 8! I wish there was a way I could make it up to everyone personally affected, but truly we all are. I just wish everyone realized it.
