Hilarity, central.

So I feel like of my five readers, 4 of you also read Will's blog, but he made a hilarious video the likes of which I haven't laughed at in awhile. So I am posting it here! Laugh for the first time, one person, you!

It was a ten day break!

Alright, I've decided to blog, just less often. When something extremely important happens. Like this conversation I overheard yesterday morning from upstairs while Brett was giving Harper her breakfast:

Harper: Dada.

Brett: No, Harper, that's Mr. Clean. But you're right, he does look like Dada.

Harper: Dada.

Time out!

Ladies and gents, I just haven't felt like blogging lately. I think that when the most monumental thing in your life is that Mattel may shut down Scrabulous, maybe God is telling you to stop blogging. Okay, maybe not God himself, but maybe Chuck, His best friend's roommate, may have passed me a note to give it a break. And actually the possible demise of Scrabulous (ouch, that hurts to write) is not really the most monumental thing going on here. The most monumental thing going on is that Harper is finally letting me listen to my own music in the car. I may have the chance to get sick of The Format which is, well, nothing short of monumental. I was blasting my favorite song of theirs (her ears are too new to damage) while she was "reading" her book blissfully, and I thought, not much could be better right now.

And when the most interesting thing to write about is listening to music in your car, well...I may need a break.

Starting '08 right: cats and music

I found a new blog I like a lot called Speed of Dark, that is essentially a daily blog of what I wanted my music pick of the month to be, but got too lazy to follow through on. (I am enjoying Tegan and Sara. That's my music pick of the month. There, I did it.) It's written by two people who call themselves "indiemom" and "altgramma" although their maternal lives are never discussed. The fact that this "gramma" is able to keep up with more new music and go to 98% more concerts than I do might speak more to my life than hers, but I enjoy her. I also like their header, so if nothing else you'll get to see a picture of a cool looking bird. Enjoy!

Cat talk.

Brett and I have taken on a project...a cat project. And yes it is both of us, not just me spearheading this whole thing. Well, okay, maybe I spearheaded it, but we have discovered he is more of a softy than I am which is a terrible thing to learn. It does not bode well for us not having 86 cats.

Anyway, I saw this lady feeding a bunch of cats at a store we frequent, they weren't neutered, so we have been doing TNR (trapping them, neutering them, releasing them). But the issue is that the blowhards in charge at said store don't like her feeding them and have said things like, "we should use them as target practice and start shooting them." If she were allowed to feed them it would be handled much more efficiently and no one would ever see them, so hopefully after we talk to them this will happen. (Brett's plan is to walk in, fan his hands and say, "Cats!") Regardless, we were told by a couple animal rights organizations to get the friendly ones off the streets because they are vulnerable. We so far have gotten two, have a home for one and need a home for another one. A cursory look at my stats shows that I have somewhere in the range of 6.5 readers in Los Angeles and I probably know 5 of them personally. So if you, that other 1.5 reader, know anyone who wants a cat, check this shit out:

George is seducing you with a glance

He's trying to seduce you, 1.5 reader! It's embarrassing me, just let me know when you want to pick him up so I can look away!
