After rewriting I Love Lucy episodes for her and her friends to perform at age eight, Natasha Levinger was inspired to write original material. Her seminal musical Curtoys' Mill, a sardonic take on poltergeists, was well received by Mr. Alexander, her fifth grade teacher, but never performed due to lack of permission slips. As an adult she found some people to act in her things including Woody Allen. She is totally not kidding about that. She wrote a scene in which Mr. Allen acted for the short film Searching for Alison Portchnik. She then spent awhile writing promos including a short mockumentary, The Zucker Follies, for the NBC Upfronts with her frequent collaborator Jason Ensler. She went on to rewrite and write a shocking number of TV movies including one for Oxygen, My Sexiest Mistake, for which she won The Gracie Award from Women in Radio and Television for Outstanding Comedy. She recently moved to Los Angeles where she had a successful run of her first play, How I Ruined Everything at the Eclectic Company Theatre.
She recently adapted that play into a screenplay,
Breaking Up and Other Mistakes, and it is currently
in the early stages of pre-production. Her greatest
work however is totally non-writing related and was
produced in August 2006: her daughter Harper.
